Synopsis:
Marion Zetland lives with her domineering older brother, John in a decaying Georgian townhouse on the edge of a northern seaside resort. A timid spinster in her fifties who still sleeps with teddy bears, Marion does her best to shut out the shocking secret that John keeps in the cellar.
Until, suddenly, John has a heart attack and Marion is forced to go down to the cellar herself and face the gruesome truth that her brother has kept hidden.

I was actually very excited to receive this book cause it sounded like something Stephen King would write. People in the basement that have been kidnapped, tortured and raped. But in the end ... it was a snooze fest. I was hoping for the story to finally get "darker" or more intense but no. From the synopsis above you know that John is supposed to have a heart attack and his sister will finally get behind the truth in the basement ... to bad it happens SO late in the book. Unfortunately I did not like this.
